
K.Smart® is a software solution for personalizing smart cards and USB keys used to store digital certificates.
With K.Smart®, KEYNECTIS enables the distribution of smart cards and USB keys from a central site to end users.
Each operator is recognized on the personalization tool thanks to a designated certificate located on a hardware device such as a USB cryptographic token or smart card.
All sensitive PIN and PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) data are encrypted when in storage, to guarantee system security while offering a solution to unblock cards if necessary.
K.Smart® is connected to a local database in which the information pertaining to the cards to be personalized has been entered.
The personalization tool functions as a web service toward the infrastructure, thus enabling the downloading of data relative to the cards to be personalized, in order to store them in the database.

- “Operated” mode, in which KEYNECTIS processes Registration Authority requests and performs all functions involved in graphic and electric personalization.
- “Internal” mode, in which KEYNECTIS provides its personalization solution on customer premises, adapting it as necessary to any existing peripherals and providing operator training.
- K.Smart® Lite, which is intended for designated operators within an organization and features a user-friendly interface.
- K.Smart®, which includes all K.Smart® Lite functionalities, is intended for administrators, and allows configuration.
